Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog, Create & Make!

Are you confused by my blog's title? Isn't create and make kind of redundant? Well, in Hebrew, not so much. The Hebrew word ברא (barah) means to produce something that's brand new. It really means to make something out of nothing, kind of like in the creation story in the Book of Genesis from the Torah. The Hebrew word עשה (asah), on the other hand, means to make something with things that are already around. You could think of עשה as a collage and ברא as a painting.

In both art and life, there are times where we're called to join. But there are also times when we need to forge ahead on a brand new path. To me, these two ideas really describe what a creative life is all about.

So I'm really glad you stopped in today! And I hope you'll stick around and be inspired to do some creating and making in your own life!
